Thought it might be interesting to see a poll on what type of boat us Ranger guys & gals are running.
Could only list 9 models on the initial poll, so if you have one not listed please add it to the list.

I have had my 185 DVS w/ Yammi 175 HPDI for almost a year now and still love it. Plenty of speed for me and the ride is great. Also, all of the boxes stay dry in the rain and that is a first for me! Never owned a boat where the boxes stayed dry.
Just got my new Ranger 185 VS with 150 Yamaha V-Max in May.. I love the ride. This is my 3rd. Ranger boat and hopefully not my last one... TA

185DVX and Merc Opti. Less than four hours on the boat which I received the last day in Feb. First time out, threw out my back and the boat has been sitting in the garage ever since. Had to have surgery for pinched nerve and Doc said I have to wait four months before getting back in the boat.
Didn't know fishing could be so dangerous
When July get's here, look out, I got lots of time to make up
519 for me... Will be taking it out tomorrow morning for ACTUAL fishing! My TM is back and fixed, yepiee!

Tommy, just curious about what your top end is with the 150. I have the Yamaha 175 HPDI and get 62-63 GPS with my 185 DVS and full load.
Right now it runs low fifties.. I checked the distance between bottom of pad and center of propshaft, it was about 6 inches.. Everything I've read and heard from these boards about boats and motors they perform best around 3.5 inches.. I need to raise my motor and check it out... It has good lift right now, but don't have any speed..... Maybe if I get that Yammie out of the water a little, it might run high 50's, what do you think. TA

519. Tomorrow will be 1 year since I picked it up. AND, it's opening day here in NY! How perfect is that?
185 DVX, 175 HPDI....nine hours on the boat. 2nd RANGER. Business trip has me off the water for a couple of weeks, but hope to make up for it soon.
Ride is soft and DRY. Handles like a dream on any water. Have had several bass boats, however from now on I will always own a Ranger.

This is my 2nd Ranger after a car accident claimed the life of my 1st one. Was so pleased with the first that I had to get a 2nd.
Also love the large, DRY storage areas. Have a friend in my club with a Cat and his are always wet. I would hate that. When I reach for my rain suit or sweatshirt, I want it dry, and my Ranger keeps it that way. I too will probably be a Ranger owner for life.

I have a 04 185VS with a 150 EFI. I love the boat, but would like to know if raising the motor to the 4th hole would help on speed. It is in the 2nd hole right now. I don't know that much about it. Thanks Randy :
