    840sx Networking Sonar

Does anybody have an 840sx networked through ethernet sharing sonar with another unit. Manual is vague. Emailed customer service snd asked if it was possible. They told me if I wanted to network sonar don!t buy a 840sx (?). Got a great buy but Garmin is 0 for 2 so far ( I haven't opened the box yet) and thinking there might be a better choice. This is silly not asking much.

I have my 1040xs network with 547xs. They share transducer and mapping. You have to get one the will network with the 840xs. I think a 741xs will network with it but I could be wrong..

Thank You very much, the 547 will work for me as well. That is actually exactly what I asked Customer service. If it works on your boat, should work on mine.

Have you called customer support or looked at the specs? They actually answer the phone :)

Look part way down this page for a list of units it can share sonar with:

    Smokercraft Phantom 202 Yamaha F115/Merc 9.9
    Garmin 7610xsv/GT51M-TM/Panoptix PS21/LiveScope
Why am I hanging out here when I could be fishing.....

Yes, the 840xs is fully Ethernet-compatible, so no issues at all sharing sonar via Ethernet to another compatible device.
