Help with prop on a Stratos 201

I have run a bunch of different props on my rig 2005 201 Pro XL with OX66 250 Yamaha, but right now I have a 26 Fury which is 3" below the pad.......I can only get 65 mph before I hit 6000 RPM and have to back off......I was getting 70-72 with a 27 Tempest or 27 T-1.......Any suggestions on what I can do? I have a single Talon in the back that I know is slowing it down some. I thought the 26 Fury would be close to the 27 Tempest on top end.......Should I get it repitched to a 27?

I have the same rig as you and right now I'm turning a 26p. Tr04 prop at 3.25 below pad and light 75mph and loaded 72 at 5600 rpms. It's a rocket out of the hole but I'm looking for more speed. I may sell it if your interested

something isnt right with the 26 fury. id have it looked at, no way you should be able to turn a 26 that high that slow.

So I have a 27 tempest and it does the same thing. At 5800 rpms it will only do 64. I put my 4 blade 26p tr04 back on and 72 mph at 5600. Why is this? I'm glad I'm not the only one. Help!!!

Your trying to run the fury too high, start dropping it down 1/4" at a time until you get rid of the slip and find some speed. The smaller diameter Fury's run lower prop to pad than other larger diameter props. I'd try running the 27 T after I had it repaired since it's a larger diameter prop than the tempest.

Thanks for the tip....I'll have to try lowering the motor and see what happens.....I'm at 25 psi water pressure, I was actually going to try and raise it higher, but what you're saying makes sense.
    I did run both a 27 T1 and 27 Tempest (both B&B's by Mark) 70-72 at 5800-5900

I have a 26 Fury on the way with extra 5/16 vent holes drilled in it. I'll post some numbersort once I get it on the lake.
