    Trolling motor mounting options

Let's hear each persons thoughts on mounting the trolling motor. Angle mount to follow the top cap provides the most deck space but catches the most wind. Straight down the center eats up the most deck space but provides neutral balance and less wind resistance. Tennessee style (offset to the passenger side but straight) eats up deck space and shifts the balance of the boat but also has a lowered wind resistance like straight centered. So, what's yalls thoughts?

When you have trolling motor in the water it doesn't take up deck space

Would you mind to post a few pictures of how the center mount looks on a Stroker? I'm not sure if I want to change it up.

I prefer the standard mount, and the biggest reason is Chub molds in a metal plate in the fiberglass, in the troller mounting area. Much stronger than just glass.

This is the first boat I've had with a center mount tm. The driving vision is amazing, really really good by comparison. So good in fact, I've changed my Gamblers tm to a center mount.

this is a customers boat i did not long ago. i cc'd the tm but also used an aluminum plate that covered old holes. the plate is big enough that tm sits on it also so it gives extra support.

Put me down for a center mount. Originally mine was angled on the passenger side. Used a couple of pieces of aluminum flat stock under the top cap as supports.

I'm away from the computer for a few days, but used some of that non-slip rubber stuff on both sides - up front.

I think y'all have talked me into it. Now to convince myself to drill the holes.

I put mine on a removable slide mount, the one offered by Motorguide (my tm is a MK) The hole pattern is closer together and you can slide the tm off if you want to.

I've had them both ways. I like on the side and the room on the deck

    Hi Richard,

Been curious where it ended up. I just left Gretna yesterday. I loved that boat, it was very clean and the colors really pop. Congrats! I just finally got back in a stroker a few weeks ago. It run good with that SHO?

I have also had both with a minnkota removable mount. I prefer the center mount. I also put alum plates under the mount on both installations.
