My favorite scissors are those $.99 cheap kitchen shears I buy at Harbor Freight Tool.

At that price, I stash them all over my house, workshop and in my boat.

They're certainly not the best scissors, but they will easily cut apart a whole roast chicken or a rack of ribs.

That's because they are "serrated." You need smooth, quality metal for the scissors.

    These work great for braid:

I just picked up the Tim Holtz scissors off Amazon for $9.67 Prime 1 day shipping. If I like the first one, I will get more. The other place (hobby Lobby) wanted $6.95 shipping.

Noted, as have others, that Amazon has them for $9.37 on Prime for those of you without Hobby Lobby around and who want to avoid shipping costs. Buying some right meow! Those little serrations and the thin tip will be the bee's knees for cutting braid! Getting a second pair for the fly tying bench!

My wife saw mine when they came in the mail, now she wants one for sewing. Guess I know where I can get a spare when I need it.

After reading your post I picked up a pair of these. Couldn't believe how well they performed.
Hopefully they will hold up to the test of time. $3.99 Can't beat that.

Local, cheap, virtually rust proof and cuts braid!

    https://www.walmart.com/ip/Fiskars-1...pt-rd/48626191

owned a pair for two years with 0 care (tossed them in a tackle bag after use) couple small spots of rust still cuts braid like a razor.

I buy the fiskers kids school scissors. At <$5 it doesn't hurt to watch them go over the side.

*edit: exactly like what was posted above.

I was a little butt-hurt when my first pair, which I left on the deck, went overboard at about 45 mph.
