    Structurescan 3D - in 2D on HDS Gen 2

As requested, here are a few screenshots from my HDS 8 Gen 2 with Structurescan 3D, No Gen 3 in my network.

    LSS-1 vs Structurescan 3D

Depth and range in METERS on all shots. These are all from my 30-minute long testrun. I was fishing a comp in deep water this weekend, so just a few shots from a shallow river going into the lake. Lots and lots of timber.

So far I`m impressed by the range. It really is double of LSS-2/LSS-1. The main reason I could not increase the range any more then in these shots, is that the river is to narrow. :D

That's meters, so 90 feet. Very impressed with the range beeing 12 times the depth, especially in a river where it gets very shallow to each side. Look at the map and you can see that it gets very shallow off to the sides.

TeamC, they all look great and I think I can tell which ones are the lss1; but can you make a mark or tell which are which? I think on pics 1 & 2 the darker image is the lss1 and the other pics are from the 3d, is that right?

Are you using the 3D box also, or just the transducer?

You have to use the module. The new ducer has two connectors due to the extra elements in the ducer.

Ahhhh, I thought you were doing a comparison test by the first sentence. Those pics are pretty sharp.

Sorry, just ment to show the difference in size between the ducers. I might do some comparing later on, If I can figure out a way to mount the LSS-1 without drilling any mote holes. Guess I could put it under my TM...

Funny thing is.... I didn't even notice the small Lss1 you were comparing the new transducer to in the first pic. The shiny new bracket completely had my eyes attention I guess

How are you getting the color shading on the GPS/Map?

Yes, the map is made with Reefmaster and Insight Map Creator. The background (roads etc) is from Open Street Map, converted to at5-format.

Will this work on a gen2 non touch? What is needed if so? I have the lss2 and the HD box at this time. Great shots. Thanks

The pics are from a Gen 2 non-touch HDS, so yes it works. The SS 3D module use the same cables for power and ethernet as your module, so just swap them around. The SS 3D ducer fits in the same bracket as your LSS-2, so just switch them around as well. The only issue that might arise, is the massive plastick joint at the end of the cable from the ducer, this requires a lot more space to thread through a boat then the smal plug you have on your LSS-2 today.
