    Tilt trim pan switch problem

Hey guys, my trim tilt switch in the cowling quit working in the down position (up works fine) and all my other up/down switches work fine throughout the boat. I'm assuming the relays are good since all others work fine, is the problem more than likely my pan switch? 2001 Mercury 175

    Thanks

yes, the switch just pops out and has bullet connections, however it takes a Mercury switch to fit it.

To confirm you could swap the blue wire with the green and see.

Since you guys are talking trim/tilt switch. My switch in the forward/reverse handle is shot. What's the best way to replace or disconnect it? I'm running a Evinrude etec. Thanks guys.

Depends on which control you have the concealed side mount or the surface mount. If you have the concealed mount and don't want and to disassemble, reach behind the gunwale and unhook the cable from the engine wiring harness. If you want to repair it you'll have to tear the control apart.
