Powell Rods used to be owned by the Powell family in California. They made really nice fly rods and other rods. They were sold or taken over some time ago due to a bad business deal. I'm not sure who owns them now, but I don't think the quality will be as good as when the Powell family owned the company.

    Graphite I'm pretty sure it's a 6 power moderate fast that's a unreal chatterbait,3/4 ounce trap rod, along with 5-8 XD's

I've noticed under the label on my powell rods, there is a letter followed by a number i.e. I 10, G 8, etc. Do these have any meaning?

The max 3d's are pretty sweet. But I'd love to see em bring the purple rods back.

I do not have any Powell Rods, but if I pay $50 for a rod like the Diesel, I want a 1 year warranty of some kind. Most rods are not going to break unexpectedly, but a few are going to be defective. I can go to Academy and get a 1 year warranty on a $30 rod.

I've used most of the lines since the original Max series. Now onto the 3DDs. I like the DDs. One of my favorites is the Enduracne 705CB for spinnerbaiting and chatterbaiting. Heavier, parabolic action. What I have noticed is there is a bit of difference between the handles of the lines. The Endurance cork is a bit thicker than the newer 3Ds.

Anyone checked out their new "nuisance" rods? Kind of a weird price point since the Diesel series isnt much less and inferno only a touch more. The spinning series look nice with the dark blue color but the casting models are a lime green.

Have to say the color--lime green--would kill any interest I have in that line
