Got one coming on a Lynx.
    What are options for support?

Moved on from the Puma platform I see. Let us know your thoughts on the comparison of the two.

    Rick,
Just looked at those--I already use rubber inserts that stop play in steering.
I'm looking for a replacement for an engine support, like Lou's or Motor Mount.

I would suggest a Moto-Stop...I know the guy that makes them and they are way over-engineered! I've used them for a long time and not heard of any issues with them. They are very popular out west...

Mercury Marine recommends the Transom Savers that go from the lower unit to the trailer. I have a new boat on order, and sent this question on to the Mecury Marine's customer service group.

The link provided does not work for me. Right now my transom saver does go to the trailer but I was thinking of getting something more convenient. If Mercury recommends the transom saver going to the trailer I would like to confirm that. Thx

    There are several choices:

    1) Standard transom saver that attaches to the trailer. Steering clips required. BCB has alway recommended this type. I use this.
    2) Motormate, DD26, Russell Marine, etc., that do not attach to the trailer. Steering clips required.
    3) Tote Rite STR8. Also does not attach to the trailer, but, no steering clips required.

BTW, the best set of steering clips that I have seen are the Gator Locks from Gator Bak which have pulls for easy removal.

FYI.....I noticed basscat recently placed some gator locks within their store.

Thanks for that heads up. Did not know that. The hard plastic ones that I have now are a PITA and difficult to remove.
