    Anyone fish the Mattaponi?

I have not fished the Mattaponi on a couple years. Due to the hot weather lately I decided to try it since it is so close. I fished 3 evenings approximately 3 hours each day and between my bother the 3 kids and myself we caught over 30 fish. We caught 4 around 3lbs. A pickerel. A 18" striper. Great fishing.

Are you putting in at walkerton? I have shocked the river when I worked with the dgif and we didn't hit many bass at all, we usually were either around aylett or down towards the confluence with the pamunkey though.

Are you fishing from a full size bass boat out of that ramp? Thought that was some skinny water.

We try not to talk about the Matti. It's like fight club. Please don't talk about the yellow perch run either.

Caught a 12" on the Pamunkey 2 weeks ago. They love a spinner bait.

It is a great river although it has not been as good with size to me lately. I went Sunday for about 5 hours and caught about 20 but biggest was only about 2lbs.
