Ah yeah you are right, my image was not very clear....or it is my eyes. Anyway that rubber area is still odd. Is it my eyes or is that white gel deck area only on the port side?

I wondered about the cleats myself till I paid attention that there really isnt room on top of the gunnel for a pop up. Maybe should have put on the outside of gunnel???

Get the price down around $38,000. I would be there in a heart beat. Sorry I was in dreamland again.
I've always been curious what defines a "working man". I own an architectural / engineering company and work on average 65 hours per week. Does that make me a "working man" or "non-working man"? Just messing with ya! I agree the stripped down 520 classic would be sweet!

    You can order one now!

There was not a G2 powered RT198P on the water for us to run, so I do not have any results with that engine.

    Thanks
    1. Livewell capacity ?
    2. Fuel tank capacity ?
    3. max rod length that will fit in port side rod locker ?
    4. will a dual axle trailer be available ?
    5. can you get a hydraulic jack plate for this boat ?

I posted a spec sheet for this boat in post #23.

I do not know the livewell capacity, but I will say it is pretty good sized. No tandem axle trailer option as of yet, and no jack plate option (manual or hydraulic) as of yet either.

The gel is textured between the rod locker door and gunnels.......

Lots of room in this boat!

The console panel will accept up to an HDS-12 back mounted.

The 185 is definitely a boat geared to lower costs which I think we all agree is what we need but as in typical Ranger fashion they have a 18'8 boat with a 150 HP rating, now I know I just said that lower costs are better but lets face it boys that like bass boats like performance and in the 80's you could get a 17'10 boat with a rating of 175 now with advances in materials like pultrusion transom material that they bragg so muich on the strength and they have a 18'8 with a 150 rating, that suxs. They have the 518C at 200, I wonder who decides this crap. I like the reduced carpet, my 119c the carpet is already looking matted.

Those boats in the 80's didnt perform as well then either. Thats something to consider. Todays boat with a 150 performs as well as yesterdays boat with a 175.

Meaning some rods will have to go in port box. Now you've lost port box for storage. Where do you put your tackle? In the battery compartment?
After seeing the storage layout I'm not so crazy about it anymore. After all it's a tin fishing boat, I have a lot of gear.
I figured this out too today also thinking about it. Making a cooler made smaller storage. Then lost underseat even though not dry. but if rods it in the one side ten center may be good place for all tackle

I like the bow panel cutout for the trolling motor cable. Reducing clutter is good engineering: doesn't cost much, and adds to the comfort of the boat. Ranger quality!
