I drove both and I think the 198P is a much better ride than the 185. The 185 seemed very 'tippy' and didn't handle the chop/waves as well as the 198P. It was also much louder bouncing off the waves. Not knocking it as it's a nice small water boat, but it was getting beat up on Table Rock.

thank you. Chris you also had a 518 with 200 which is now a 518c how is it compared? One more question on the 198. is the center box step up to back deck going to be dry like the glass model? This is my last question and hopefully decide by monday

I didnt drive the 518c this time but I don't remember my 2012 518 feeling light like the 185. The 185 didn't have all my junk in it either though. The 198 felt every bit as solid as my 518 did and was just a little louder being a metal boat.

Roger looked at that box and figured it would probably get wet. We didn't see a drain in it either, but it might have been there.

The "Ranger Cup" Equipment Package.


For the longest time we have known "Ranger Cup" to be either a color package or a tournament contingency program. Now it is also an equipment package that is available ONLY on a Z520c, Z521c, 620FS, and 621FS models. The package differs between bass boats and deep-v's, as you will see. Also new for this year, and I touched on it earlier in this thread, is Ranger MAP pricing.

These packages are only available on Mercury powered boats.

This package gives the buyer a lot of equipment.......a fully loaded boat, Power Poles and all (on bass boats) for a very competitive price!

You can still custom color your boat! (NASCAR package is excluded.)
