I sure hope the OP bought his new frog rod years ago. Otherwise he has missed out on a lot of good fishing.
I didn't have a frog rod at the time of the original post. Today I have an OG Tatula 7'4" H that I keep in Florida for that purpose. It will cast a 1/2 oz. frog decently, but if looking to bomb a cast then a 5/8 oz. frog is a much better option. No problem walking a frog with it. Last winter I treated myself to 2 ALX rods when they were on sale. (Haven't seen them that low since.) One was a Toadface. Unfortunately work didn't allow me much free time this year. Been out once with the rod. Twice with the Deputy.
Currently not working a second job. Should that still be the case next year I am hoping to put both rods to good use.
wow, 2016. I've tried frog rods from 7'11 to 6'10 and for me about 7'3 is the sweetspot.

Loomis GLX 855 is a beast. I will use a Perfect Pitch too when I have multilpe frogs tied up but 855 would is 1st choice
