    You're hitting 6000 with a 26???
I got the same boat and outboard and I can only get up 5500 depending on the prop I've got on it. I've tried Fury, Trophy and Tempest. My jackplate must be too low but the rooster tail is even with the motor. I've seen 70+ a few ones but not those kind of rpms. I thought the limiter kicks in at 5750?

You need a different prop (smaller) to bring your RPMs up

I have a question also on set up. I have a 2013 z9 . Never had a hydraulic Jack plate where is it best set at for top end speed.

Rb, you have the best situation to be in. Just go out and run it. Find the best Top end speed at different trim levels (most likely close to max) and then raise up the jake plate a little at a time. Watch your water pressure as you raise it. Report back to us...

I have the exact same boat. except its a 2005 with a 2005 Mercury 200 Optimax

The engine blew awhile back. I had it rebuilt and have recently broken her back in. Maybe 12 hours on new rebuilt engine now.

Before rebuild I was running in the 69-70 Mph Range Empty with 1 person at 5700 or so rpms, Prop Shaft 3 3/4 inches below pad with the same 10 inch slidemaster jackplate.

Now, after the rebuild I am barely getting 65 mph... Empty with maybe 10 gallons of fuel and 1 person. at 5450 Rpm. Same height and Jackplate.

Same Prop.. I just dont get it??

    3-3/4 below pad
    26 psi
    1 person

I will modify this post when i get the boat dialed in.

I had a full tank of gas, both livewells full and me and my buddy in the boat, w/ full tourney load.

It was my 1st time out, the water was a little choppy, I hit 64mph on GPS, boat ran soo smooth and dry, it just skipred over the chop with no issues.

    My rpm was around 5800 - 5900
will check the motor hieght to see where I am at.

fished all day, using a 80lbs Minn Kota Fortrex - 24v system.
batteries lasted and did not let me down.

I am very happy with my purchase.

Yeah that's right with the info. I've got a 25 Fury on it now and it's running about 5700 now. With me and 1/2 tank and loaded it'll run 72-73. Last weekend with me, my son, his partner and full livewells and a tourney load it would top out at 64-65. About the drop off I figured with all the weight.

I haven't messed with mine much but I'm at about 70 with a 25 tempest. What's your prop to pad?

I've got to measure it and find out. Whenever I mess with a boat setup I usually go by water pressure and feel, don't think I've ever measured one before. So far I've never seen less than 20-22 lbs water pressure with this boat. I'll try and get a number this weekend.

solid plugs - great holeshot - 2 sec.

Do I need to lower the motor 1 hole (currently 3rd hole) and get maybe a 23 or 22p to increase rpm and mph??
    Appreciate any thoughts or advice...Thanks......

I just bought a 2012 z8 with a 200 pro xs...just took it out for the first time...it's got a 24 fury in it and the prop shaft is 3 3/4 below pad...there was literally no gear in the boat and half tank of fuel...I could only get 57 mph gps and 5400 rpm...everything I've read says this boat should hit low 60s...do I need a bigger prop? Need to go up on the jack plate?

If your water pressure is ok, I would raise the motor. you need to be pushing 5800 rpms. raising it will increase rpms and thus improve speed. keep raising until you lose bow lift or water pressure.
