Did a lake test with a new boat customer in the Z-7DC with the new Merc F150. Couldn't open it up but the holeshot was oput of this world! No doubt this one is going to run 60-61MPH with no jackplate. Can't wait to get another one instock.

    2010 Z7
    200 pro xs
    26p tempest plus
about 3 1/2 in below (I think, I have to re-measure, its been a while)
getting the hang of driving it.
hitting the rev limiter at 6000 rpms
    70 mph gps.
I think with more seat time and ability to continue to drive with the chine it can get maybe one or two more mph.

    You're hitting 6000 with a 26???
I got the same boat and outboard and I can only get up 5500 depending on the prop I've got on it. I've tried Fury, Trophy and Tempest. My jackplate must be too low but the rooster tail is even with the motor. I've seen 70+ a few ones but not those kind of rpms. I thought the limiter kicks in at 5750?

I know its a fair time ago, but do you remember on take off if the nose shot up in the air substantially? I have the same set up with 10 inch plate and it just seems to jump the nose up a fair way. It still plains fairly quickly.

    Thanks

    2013 Nitro Z-7
    Mercury OptiMax Pro XS 150
21p Tempest Plus (all plugs in)
    Water Pressure 13
    5600 RPM
    No Jack Plate
    3 1/2" BP
    58MPH
5,400 feet above sea level, passenger and 1/2 tank gas tourney load. Just breaking in the boat. Once everything seats correctly I'll get my 56-5700 RPMs and might gain 1-2 mph.

Over all, pretty impressed with speed and performance off the floor. Everything is factory...haven't messed with a thing. Good speed for such a high elevation (I think). I might play with it a little more, but I'm happy with 60mph.

Without sounding too ignorant, can someone please explain the "below pad" dimension methodology? Is it the gearbox spline in relation to the bottom of the hull as per below diagram?
