2008 Z9 250 Pro XS 25 Fury @ 5800 RPM with 2 guys 67 MPH tops Prop Height 3 1/4" Below. Does this sound right? Boat doesn't have any lift but I was used to a skeeter which has a ton of it. Not sure how any of you can get 70+ rig seems heavy. Don't really think trying a tempest will change anything ?

Not getting any lift. good speed for no lift. Sounds like u found your problem. Its not gonna lift like a skeeter. but it should get out of the water. I ran a 26p B&Bd Tempest on my 08 Z9. saw speeds as high as 75 normally 72. It was not a great holeshot boat.

Dam I have great holeshot but seems like the fury doesn't lift at all. Think a tempest plus is worth trying? Think I should drop her down 1/2"?

    2005 NX882
    2005 Mercury 115 ELPTO
    21P Lazer II
    6" fixed jackplate
    50 mph at 5500 rpm
Holeshot is fine with one person and non existent with a full livewell and 2 guys

I would NOT recommend this motor for the 882, I am putting a Merc 175 EFI on in a couple of weeks and will post back the new numbers

Well I dropped her down 1/2" and she opened up and have a little lift now 71.2 @ 5800 I'm just out of trim. She's got more if I could trim her up some.

    2016 Z18 w/150 ProXS
    24P Fury
    6" Manual Plate @3" BP
    65.3 MPH @ 5700 rpm and 13 psi
1 man, 1/2 fuel, empty live wells, full tackle
70 degree air, 60 degree water. Only 6-7 hours on motor so far.

I don't know if the GPS is off a little or if this motor is abnormally strong, but I was shocked at the lift this hill has as well as the top end, not to mention how well it turns a Fury prop.
I owned a 2010 Z7 a few years ago and this is an entirely different ride.

    2012 z7 merc 150 pro xs
    Full tank, full gear 2 people(1 200# 1 130#)
6" atlas jp, 8' talon, terrova tm
24 tempest worked down to a 22 pitch with medium cup
    5400 rpm @54.8 mph gps

Runs best with jp all the way down motor was in second hole from top so I just lowered it
to the lowest hole not sure of distance between pad. Wish I could see 60 in my boat. I just had simons tune my pcm so i will see if that helps with anything in the next few weeks.

    2005 Nitro 882, 2005 mercury 150 Xr6
Full Tank, empty livewells, tourney load, 2 guys
    23 tempest plus
    5400 RPM, 58.5 Mph
    16-18 psi WP

bobs 6" plate - holeshot 4.5" below pad very fast
Jacked up and trimmed up until WP dropped, then jacked down a bump back to 18 PSi
got a little unstable, and afraid to drive through it

thoughts? specs for the XR6 are 5600 - cant get any more RPM out of it without some type of change
small (mostly closed ) vent plugs - thinking of getting larger ones, or taking them out?

    thoughts?

what 4 blade would you suggest for big/rough water? thinking a trophy plus 23 or 22?

I would take the plugs out. Your numbers seem pretty good apart from the RPMS... you should be able to get 5600 to 5950 i think so gaining that extra RPM will give a little more MPH... you might also see an improvement in holeshot.

    2012 Z7, with opti 150
    23 tempest
    5200 rpm
    54 mph gps
    1 person and light load
    No jackplate
    3.5 below pad

boat does not seem to have a lot of lift. Do they just run flat normally? I had a skeeter before and it had tons of lift so I'm not sure what to expect with this setup? Seems like is not enough rpm to me. Any suggestions on the setup would be great!!! Thanks
