    Re: Nitro Set-Up's (Nitro Z7)

    2000 Nitro 901 CDX - dual console w/ 200hp Merc Optimax 3.0L
    running a 25p tempest 3blade

I had a full tank of gas, both livewells full and me and my buddy in the boat, w/ full tourney load.

It was my 1st time out, the water was a little choppy, I hit 64mph on GPS, boat ran soo smooth and dry, it just skipred over the chop with no issues.

    My rpm was around 5800 - 5900
will check the motor hieght to see where I am at.

fished all day, using a 80lbs Minn Kota Fortrex - 24v system.
batteries lasted and did not let me down.

I am very happy with my purchase.

    Re: Nitro Set-Up's (mwcates)

i have a 2011 z8 dual console with a 250 ProXs, and a 26 fury. having problems getting top speed outta it due to chine walk. it starts out suttle but than gets outta hand before you can try to drive through it. motor is sitting about 3 1/2 bp. most i have gotten outta the boat with 2 people and a quarter tank of gas, livewells empty is just over 70. at this set up i can tell it will go more but the chine get so bad you have to let out. any tips on a top performance set up or tips on controlling the walking problem?

    Re: Nitro Set-Up's (GRR884)

    2011 Nitro Z8
    250HP Mercury Opti Max
    26 inch Mercury Fury
74 MPH GPS at around 5900 RPM with one rider and a half tank and all my tackle
70 MPH GPS at around 5800 RPM with two very large riders (600 lbs between two people) full tank and 2 peoples tackle.
    10 inch manual Jack Plate
I think the lower end unit is around 3 inches below pad.
I have a Minkota Fortex 101 and a Humminbird 998c with side imaging at the console and an 858c interlinked at the bow.
I love this boat. When I first drove another Z8 (same boat and motor) I thought I would never get through the chine walk. It started to walk at 68 MPH. I watched a video on YouTube and also played around with my own boat and was able to easily drive through it even though I would have never thought I could when I first drove it. I think I could go faster because I see some claims of higher speeds with the same boat but 70 plus miles an hour is fast enough for me. I smoke most other boats at blast off. When I am going 70 plus it's hard for me to watch the GPS!

    Re: Nitro Set-Up's (RJM210)

I just ordered a 2012 Z8 with 250 on the back and am also running 2 powerpoles on this boat. My question for you is are you solely running that 26p Fury or are you pitching down or up for warmer or cooler weather? Have you tried any other props? Would you suggest another any other pitch or type of prop?

Did a lake test with a new boat customer in the Z-7DC with the new Merc F150. Couldn't open it up but the holeshot was oput of this world! No doubt this one is going to run 60-61MPH with no jackplate. Can't wait to get another one instock.

    2010 Z7
    200 pro xs
    26p tempest plus
about 3 1/2 in below (I think, I have to re-measure, its been a while)
getting the hang of driving it.
hitting the rev limiter at 6000 rpms
    70 mph gps.
I think with more seat time and ability to continue to drive with the chine it can get maybe one or two more mph.
