Anyone have an answer? I'm also looking at an rx4. Currently running 26 inch Raker on 225HO G1 on light weight hull. Planning on a 26 inch rx4 or 26 inch Solas Rubex.

BRP has 3 - Pitches of RX4 made for the G1 engines. They have large vent holes (1inch) that are not adjustable. These are new and are not in their catalog. Have run them on the G1 250 HO and they work great.

    768461 - 24 pitch
    768462 - 25 pitch
    768463 - 26 ptich.

I have a 2014 Z521C with a G1 250HO. I was running a 26 Raker II. My Raker ran 71 MPH W/Atlas jackplate @ setting #8. I bought an RX4 25 pitch and I am still running 71 MPH. The holeshot was better and the acceleration was way better. However I was only turning 3000 to 3500 RPM on holeshot with the RX4 with all adjustable ports wide open. I drilled 4 3/8" holes in addition to the vents and now I am turning 4500 rpm on holeshot with a big improvement in holeshot. The really interesting thing is that I can come out of the hole with just 1/3 throttle and the boat gets on plane in the same time as when I mash it. By the way the speeds I mentioned where at a light load ( just me and a1/2 tank of fuel, livewells full.

The added 3/8 holes are accomplishing the same as the larger holes in special G1 RX4s. Most of the time the G1 - 250HO gets best acceleration if it can hit 3700 on when you hit the throttle. Over 4000 is probably not getting you any added accel. That's probably why you get on plane using part throttle. The higher rpm you're getting will help with extra load or real steamy weather.
