    Legend Setups...

OK guys, as requested, this will be the official setup thread. You can bring your posts over from Mike's setup topic if you want so it will be easier for others to check back to in this one thread. I'll sticky it to the top.

Also, check out the BBC owners page for more setups... http://bassboatcentral.com/legend.htm

    New Legend owner.

    2006 LE-21 w/Mercury 225 Pro XS & 24 pitch Fury.
Tournement load, 3/4 in main tank and 10 gallons in aux tank
    Only me in boat
    Time: 6:30 am
    Air Temp: 63
    Water Temp: 67
    Elevation: 2140
    WOT: 71mph
    RPM's: 5800
Motor Set at 4" below pad

Same set-up with partner and full tourney load, same lake:
    68.7 mph
    5800 rpms

Trying different motor height settings and weight distribution.

Have new Merc 25 pitch Fury to try yet.

I think this boat can run near 75mph.

    Ideas?

    Thanks,

    Fred

Nice Numbers Potan. I cant wait to run at closer to sea level to see where my numbers go! After some tweeking and prop swaps I think I've got my rig pretty well dialed in. It just loves the Fury 24P prop. She is the fastest hole shot I have ever seen and WOT speaks for itself!

Curious about my setup and any help appreciated. Haven't measured below pad yet but can update later. Here is what I do know:

    12 Alpha199 w/ProXS 225hp
    26 Fury
    10" plate
    100% full gas
    tournament load w/200# partner
    livewell empty
    Water Pressure 26
Trim slightly lower than highest RPM attainable of 5800 runs much faster
    RPM 5600
    Air Temp 30
    Water Temp 45
    GPS 68.8-69.5

runs a bit faster with a foot or two of chop
    no walk
have seen high as 72.3 on certain days but can't really figure out what was different then

13 alpha 211R merc 250 pro xs(gen2) atlas hydro jack plate
    25 fury
    3 1/4 in. below pad
    66 mph @ 5540 rpms ( gps )
just me and 3/4 tank of fuel light tournament load, no water in live well. 1 person
    air temp 71 water 75

    26 bravo 1
    2 in. below pad
    66 mph @ 5700 rpms ( gps )
    2 1/2 in below pad
    67 mph @ 5600 rpms (gps )

merc rep seems to think thats all i should expect.the 2 in below pad is where he said i should run it..(throws a rooster tail and steering is stiff) trailer doesnt load very well with the bravo.ive tried every height and several different props 65 to 67 unless running down the river is all i get..

2013 Alpha 211 DC w/ 250 Pro XS (4 hours on Motor, so only opened her up for a minute max each time) - 25 Fury worked by Baggy's Propeller Shop - 74 Ibs of Gear (tackle / rods and reels) - 10 Ibs of tools - 40 Gallons fuel - 2 Men (400 Ibs) - Livewells half full - Air Temp 90 F / Water Temp 86 F - 5760 RPM's = 71 mph - Same load minus partner (-200 Ibs) = 73 mph (Motor was as far down as I could go with my Atlas 10")

    2012 211 250proxs
    10" atlas
25 stock fury pushing 5900rpm 3.5-4" below pad
    70* a bit of chop
    water temp was low 70s
light load with me and buddy #400
    livewells full
74 mph on a short run possible could have gotten more
just me in the same setup 76 then she started to walk bad and had to cut her down

i really wish I still had a bobs jackplate over the atlas.

my 26 fury best with only me under similar conditions was struggling to get 73 but did handle a bit better.

Next to try is a 25 high five for the Great Lakes. If anyone has or knows of one for sale let me know

Have an '03 186 with a '01 200 merc. Running a 25 Tempest now at 5800 rpm and getting 68 mph with full load. Got a chance to get a 24 fury at a good price. What can I expect with this prop?

    2014 211R
    10 Atlas Jack Plate
    Twin Power Poles
    2 200 Plus Guys
    Live wells partially full
    Chucked full of gear
40 gallons of fuel or so
    25P Fury
    5600 RPM

Jack plate gauge at 14. Will check how far below pad
74 MPH still gaining speed. Starting to get loose.
need to raise engine a bit more. The more I raise the engine the less trim I need and the more stable the boat gets. Just got the boat. Never thought it would out run my Cobra which runs 71+ loaded. Very pleased with this boat. Jim

I am a new Legend owner. I have a 2014 211R with an Atlas Hydro Jackplate, no gauge, and running a 25 tempest plus. I've only had it in the water a couple of times and no chance to actually run it at higher RPM's. The Skeeter that I ran before this boat had a fixed jackplate. I'm looking for some advice on the optimal position of the jackplate to maximize my top end and any thoughts on the prop.
