Question for the grillers and cooks of BBC.

I've been asked what I would like for Father's Day, and I'd like to get a nice instant read thermometer.

    Looking for some recommendations.

As an option to the Thermapen- look at the one made by Lavatools. It's very comparable and 25.00 . I bought 2 about 3 years ago and use it regularly, Nary a problem or issue with it. (gave 1 to my son for fathers day)

See what Meathead at AmazingRibs.com has to say about thermometers. He's especially big on using them.
