Re: LETS SEE SOME PICS (ncbooboo64)

Nice boat! I may be getting an 86 for a rebuild. It has been sitting in the weeds since 95 or so. My uncle in law is thinking about buying it and putting it in my garage while we tear it apart. I cant wait.

I have a 97 LS205, this boat will be his once it is done. It has a cool color combo, it is silver/grey with the orange pinstriped lightning bolt. I will post some pics of it if he ends up getting it. Glad you like your rig. I might look you up for info when and if we start rebuilding it.

Re: LETS SEE SOME PICS (dsnaproll)

A little ruff, boat is a little heavy, This makes my third HS so far. I had a 79 16 footer with a 100 evinrude awesome hole shot on that boat. then i got a 90 DV200 with a Evinrude 200 dual consol boat good boat. and now this as for as any boat this is it, may not be fast but really rides well and comfortable. plan on keeping awhile.

Andrew - where did you get that cover? What kind is it? Or did it come with the boat when you bought it?

    Thanks.

Re: LETS SEE SOME PICS (AmesHusker)

Curt, A local guy made it for me. He's a friend of mine its custom for that boat and it ran me about 800 dollars but it was all worth it. its made out of sunbrella and is all double in forced around all the sharp objects. he guarantees it. well recommended around here for even making upholstery for the hot rods. if you want a phone number I can get it for you. Re: LETS SEE SOME PICS (Hydra-Sports) only (toddgot5fish)

I just purchased a Hydrasports bass boat, 1984 which I believe is a VL-270. The person I bought it from didn’t have any manuals/tech data. If you could make a copy of any information you might have I would gladly pay you for it!!!

    Thank you for any help.

    Tom

Re: LETS SEE SOME PICS (__gabby) Photodan

    Photodan,
Hope you see this. I just bought a 1978 Hydra Sports 178VEE that looks, except for the color, exactly like the one you show in this pic. I have only owned the boat for a few weeks and, because of weather issues, have only had it out once. It was a one owner and pretty well kept. It is all original, engine etc. The carpet on the decks has been replaced. The engine ran well, it is a 150 Merc Black Max. The trolling motor looks like a match to the one you show. The previous owner has made some changes and the wiring is a little confusing to me. By any chance, would you happen to have any information concerning the wiring schematics? I will be able to track most of it myself but if I had a diagram it would be a little easier. If you have any info please email to (nrayle@comcast.net)
    Thanks,
    Bohunter.

Re: LETS SEE SOME PICS (iiton)

iiton: I don't have a manual for the VL-270, but I used to have a brochure back in the day, because I was a huge Hydra-Sports fan in my teens and early twenty's. In fact, I still am. The X-270 with a big black Merc V6 was my dream boat back then. Problem was, I was a college student with no $ for a boat purchase. I do remember the VL-270 was basically the X-270 from '83. They just renamed it the VL-270 to designate the Vee Loc hull configuration. The boat was 17' 5" long with a beam of 81" and weighed somewhere in the neighborhood of 900 lbs. This was a pretty quick boat with a V6 if it was set up right. In '84 they introduced the Vl-475 also. It looked much like the 270 with a little wider beam and more inside molded depth. But for some reason the 475 just wasn't as quick as the 270.
