    New Toy

This next week I will be acquiring a 1999 Honda VXR800. I'm a Harley guy but for some reason I have been drawn to this bike.

The only one I'm attracted to is this one.

    I guess I'm just a dinosaur.

That right there would be a sweet ride!!! I almost bought the KZ 650 for my first bike back in 78 but chose to keep it a little smaller for my first street bike. Went with a Honda Hawk 400.

Alan, my dad had a Kawasaki shop when I was in high school. I turned 16 in '78, the same year Kawasaki released the Z1R...

We got two of them... One was spoken for when it arrived, the other became the "shop" bike and a special project (all kinds of goodies).

At 16 and fearless (aka, STUPID), I loved swinging a leg over that thing. I've been on faster bikes since, but I've never actually gone faster on a public road than I did on that one.

Let the Good Times Roll, indeed.

Sorry to hijack... Enjoy that Interceptor, Chris, and be safe.
