Great work
Great work
Nice, I have the same 2015 PT190. just thinking about removing the front live well too. hardly ever use it, need the storage. Question: did you route the lip drain back through and how did you place the wiring harness. I like the future LED idea.
I have a 2014 175TXW & have been tempted to do the same. How hard is it to get the front deck off?
Just started this project myself. I cut the livewell out. Easier than removing deck. Trying to figure out how to plug thru hull discharge in the hull. Anyone have any suggestions? Been searching the intenet for a thru hull cap and can find anything
I can't see the pictures you posted. Anyway you could email them to me if you still have them? Kenvettraino@comcast.net

rather unfortunate that Photobucket, and other picture hosting sites ruined so many good posts.

Sorry, I haven't been on in a little while. I've added the pictures to an album in my profile. Let me know if you have any problems seeing them. *start from 10 and work backwards*

Very clean work!
Couple observations...
Did you coat the plywood before installing it? Without a coat of epoxy (or polyester resin), it may rot with time. Even though not exposed directly, lots of humidity builds up below decks and can be more harmful than direct water contact (mold growth).
Is the underside of the deck also unfinished? Again, same issue. Understand it is a cost-cutting measure by the manufacturer, but you certainly will want to keep compartment lids open during uses to air out and prevent moisture build-up and mold growth.
I did not coat any of the plywood. Not really worried about it for now, it will all be replaced at a later date.
I'd never do it, but I sure like it! Well done!!!!

You do nice work and it looks real professional. Good job!
How did you cut your livewell out?
And how did you get the wood to stay put once you installed it?
Man you do nice work. May I ask a question my friend? Why would you not just seal the drain with silicone and and use it as storage?
Looks good! I removed mine when i redid my boat and used the space to make a center rod locker
I recently purchased a new 2016 Lowe Stinger 175. I didn’t like the front Livewell either. I just put drain plug in both holes and disconnected the wiring from the switch so I don’t accidentally turn it on. I have all of my tackle in the front livewell. No problems

While I use my front live well I can understand those that would rather not have it. You have done a very sanitary job on that! Nice!
