Hit bottom with my prop putting the boat on the trailer. In your opinions does this need re-work or can this be worked out? If so, whats the best way?

I would but I want every last MPH I can get out of my rig.
Nothing that a file, dremmel, and polish wouldn't fix in my humble opinion wouldn't fix.

FWIW was told by a reputable prop man to never take a metal file to the prop. He said something about metal contamination into the stainless.

Interesting. Never heard that. Good friend is Robbie Patterson, a great prop man with Real Deal and Sanderson Marine, here in VA. Gotta check with him, too...he fixed a Tempest Plus which I had drive thru gravel!!
Correct, no file... Send it to Mark Croxton once the season is over... Dan
Got to see data about that. Metal file I trust all others bring data.

Something about the file shavings contaminating the stainless if a weld is ever needed on the leading edge. I trust the guy that pounds on my prop.

I deal with this all the time in the piping industry. Anytime you touch stainless with carbon steel whether it be a file, brush, or anything carbon it has the potential to rust in that spot. Even if you have a stainless brush or grinder that's hit carbon too it will do it.

Been using a file since the early 1990 (s) never once had any kind of issue.

The file is harder than the stainless, can't see it embedding metal from a hardened file into stainless. The stainless would have to break the file down a lot not to mention the stainless is soft compared to the file that is how you are able to cut softer metals, because the file is hard.
Leave it alone until you send it out, it will work fine with that minimal damage and you probably won't even notice any difference in performance.

Run it to see there's a difference in performance. If a loss or not acceptable to you, send to mark.
A good B&B and some fine tuning will do wonders.

I would get it fixed. You would be surprised at the performance difference . Been down that road before. You can still run it, but you will notice the difference.

A muddy river will polish that right out. Nothing to worry about.
CLOSED GAMEFISHING SEASONS IN WI HAS NO BIOLOGICAL CREEDENCE!!!
Ran it today, no performance change.

It depends on your expectations. I had many props like that and no big deal for me. I really saw no change. I think it just bothers a lot of folks. Its a good idea to have 2 props for different applications and bodies of water. I use a 4 blade on shallow risky bottom like Potomac river and a 3 blade performance for like smith mountain...
