help me get the right prop

hello all, I recently purchased a 2016 179 trx with the 115 4 stroke. It came with a vengeance 18 pitch on it and I can not run WOT with this prop on I have to bring the throttle back if I trim the motor up to get more speed. The boat has a great holeshot right now I just want to be able to stretch it out better on the top end. I do not have a jackplate on right now and probably wont have for a while. What would be a good prop to get some more MPH out of this thing as I currently have only hit 48. Thank you for any help as this is my first boat.

you mite have more luck on the tin boat board. Tons of guys running that motor there. I'd say add some cup to that prop that you have.
Are go to a higher pitch. The laser ll in a 19p with cup added would be my choice. If your at 3/4 throttle, and running max rpm range.

It's a Triton glass boat. How many rpm's can you turn the 18" prop at WOT. You have to be close to or over 6000 now. Are you running with the boat loaded ready to fish like your going to run it most of the time.

Myra I run fully loaded with full tank of gas every time I go, and I can't even go WOT. If I trim up I have to back the throttle down to keep my Rpms under 6 or it will over rev.

Are y'all thinking around a 21 or 22 pitch is going to be what I need?

You should lose 200 rpm's for every inch up in pitch so a 19 would bring it down 200 and a 21 would bring it down 600 but you want to stay as close to max rpm's with the 4 stroke.

I know it's a glass boat. Just saying that many of the guys on the tin side are running that engine in boats comparable with weight to his 179. I've run glass boats for years.

Test a 19" laser II loaded ready to fish 50 mph.
