Which boat has a smoother ride?
I've been looking at the 250 and have been told the 250 is as good for the most part. The difference is noticed in really rough water where the FX is better.
I have a fx 225 and I have never had a boat that handles rough water like this one, But also keep in mind I have always had lighter faster boats as well. Cannot compare the zx 250 never been in one

The FX is by far the best riding boat.
Go with it
Basically the same boat, just different deck layout and options. They will ride the same in rough water.
The 2012-2014 ZX21 is a different hull.

The NEW ZX 250 and the FX21 will be the same ride. The 20 will be quicker, but not as goo in rough water.Originally Posted by Skeeter102

They both are listed at 2175 lb hull. I have a FX21 and rough water performance in my experience is related to how you drive it, how you have the weight distributed, prop and trim/jackplate. I would get the one that offers your preferred layout and ergonomics.
Just picked up my new 16 zx250 and must say its a sweet boat. Can't comment too much on rough water ride as haven't had it in more than a 2ft chop. Coming out of an i class and that had a great ride. But must say I am impressed with almost all aspects of the new zx so far.
