Anyone here purchase and install a recessed trolling motor tray?

I'm thinking of purchasing one to put in my triton v176 mag. Any tips or advice? Thanks in advance.

I have in my Glass boats but not in a tin. Hardest part was poking the first hole, after that it went pretty easy.

I have... Need to research it really good to make sure there's no bracing in that area... If not it's pretty easy to do

I put one in a glass boat and my current Xpress X19. I used some 1" square alum for some additional floor support around the tray. Rock solid.

+1. The bracing is the only hurdle on some boats but usually there are ways around it. That boat will have an aluminum deck so a jigsaw with a metal blade or an oscillating saw with a metal blade works great for making a very clean cut. Just map everything out very well and i recommend cutting the carpet away first. Its not bad at all if there arent braces in the way.

I notched two different braces on my Xpress when I put mine in and it hasn't hurt a thing. Been in there for over five years and the floor is still solid.

I put one in my glass Ranger. When I bought my Tracker it was my first upgrade. Almost can't live without it once you have it!

I put a Comfort Troll in my X-19. Best upgrade I ever did. If you're concerned about bracing it, stick a deflated basketball under the deck and then inflate it. The deck will be rock solid. Oldest trick in the book.

Today I looked under the deck and it doesn't look good. It appears I have a vertical brace running right down the middle of where I am supposed to put the tray. I just tried to post a picture but it says the file is too large. I'll keep trying.

Sometimes I don't understand myself. I saw a white tray (matches the boat) on EBay and purchased it. And did so after seeing the bracing underneath. So I guess I'm going to try to find a way to fit a square peg in a round hole.
Does anyone know why this site is saying my pictures I trying to post are too large? I've posted plenty in the past.

Same here, I can not hardly get a pic to post, keeps saying file to big. everyone says to load it thru Shutterfly. That's a pain in the ass. I have to take the pic, email them to myself, load on computer, upload to shutterfly, log into shutterfly, copy to BBC. I used to just copy and paste from my computer but cant anymore.

Nearly every tin boat with an installed tray had to cut a brace. Your decision if you want to or not.

Yeah I suppose. Looked pretty important. Not enough triton v176 guys around here who have actually cut it. That's what I was hoping to find.

I had a Triton V176Mag and decided not to cut the brace for a pedal tray.
