Looks like I need to get a bottle of evinrude engine tuner.

Glad she's running good for you. I still haven't tried mine yet.

I took the boat out yesterday and still no luck. I'm at a loss here as not sure where to turn next. The primer bulb, new brp, is losing prime. I don't think that is right. I tried pumping the bulb but there was no change in the way it started. I guess as long as once it's running it's fine for the rest of they day not to worry about it??? I'll keep messing with it and maybe get it figured out.

Somehow I have two cans of engine tuner at the garage so I'll try that. I assume it's "de carb" and if that doesn't work I''' try the portable tank.

I believe its a fuel relate issue because it will fire off on the first try but stumbles and dies. Would a bad or faulty lift pump cause this?

I am not a marine mechanic but did go to Alfred Tech for auto mechanics many many many moons ago........but the one thing they always stress there is to address the electrical side of the engine before assuming it's a fuel problem. More things go wrong with electrical then fuel....

I couldn't agree more. I've chased "Jetting" issues only to find out It was an electrical issue. Still more things to try before I throw in the towel. I'll keep you all posted if I figure it out.

Still waiting to hear if you tried a portable tank to eliminate the boat.

I have not. Do use the primer bulb I have on the boat now or use the one on the portable tank?

If the portable has a 3/8" hose on it then use that. Don't know where your primer bulb is Joe but if you can place the tank on the rear deck and slip the boat side bulb in the tank's hose then do that.

I had the same issue as you my man. Last year primer bulb would go flat. Found a small leak where the fuel line came into the motor under the air intake. Also, have you checked the shift interrupter to make sure its not making the motor ron on just one bank?

Yes....Last year the shift linkage where the interrupt attaches was broken so I replaced it and adjusted it. I do get a lot of fuel/oil mix on and around the lift pump area and the lines associated with it. the strange part is I can just keep pumping the bulb and it never seems to get hard, the fuel is going somewhere. I don't see any leaking when have the hood and pans off so it's going somewhere.

is the vacuum lift pump leaking? is the check valve at the tank holding fuel properly? both can cause bulb to not pump up and hold-

I think that's why ChampioNman wants me to try a separate fuel tank. I'm not sure if the lift pump is or isn't as the entire front of the engine gets oil everywhere.

So, update to my update. I've had it out 3 times since that day and it's been back to the way it was before! At this point I'm going to switch to the etec thermostats and qec10 plugs to see if that helps and if that doesn't I'll just deal with it for the year and deal with it over the winter.
