    2005 Ranger Z21 with Verado 250

A little background. I bought this boat in October of 2014 and it had no jack plate and the Verado seemed to be under a load at all times but a good hole shot. The prop was a 24 fury. The best I could get was 62 GPS and 5800 RPM. Talked to a lot of good people along the way of set up and was advised to install a jack plate. Had the Atlas installed and took it out for a test and fought coil problems Four total before I was told that Mercury had a bad run. Eddy Creek Marina fixed my problem the next morning and had my boat running good. With the jack plate and motor at 2 1/2'' below pad I gained MPH and RPM 65 GPS and 6100 RPM. Talked to Mark Croxton about a prop and he suggested that I try some friends props to get more info before buying one from him. Found a 24 Bravo FS and WOW what a difference it made. Motor at 2 1/4'' Below pad I hit a best of 68.3 GPS and 6040 RPM. Boat was loaded and full of fuel with water in live well. Now I have to call Mark and work out a good prop because they want the RPM range to be around 6250. Just wanted to put this set up out there for who is dealing with similar set ups.

That's really good But I don't think I can turn a 26 on my old Verado. I need 150 more RPM now and tried a 24 Bravo but slowed down.

I actually have the exact same setup as you and I'm on Kentucky lake! 05 z21 with a 250 verado and I can only get about 63 max speed. I hope you still check this and can let me know what you ended up doing to get more speed out of your boat! Thanks in advance.

    If you turn 6040 with a 24p Bravo 1 .I would think he could loose a 24 p up to 200 more RPMs or get a 22p Bravo1
