A little background. I bought this boat in October of 2014 and it had no jack plate and the Verado seemed to be under a load at all times but a good hole shot. The prop was a 24 fury. The best I could get was 62 GPS and 5800 RPM. Talked to a lot of good people along the way of set up and was advised to install a jack plate. Had the Atlas installed and took it out for a test and fought coil problems Four total before I was told that Mercury had a bad run. Eddy Creek Marina fixed my problem the next morning and had my boat running good. With the jack plate and motor at 2 1/2'' below pad I gained MPH and RPM 65 GPS and 6100 RPM. Talked to Mark Croxton about a prop and he suggested that I try some friends props to get more info before buying one from him. Found a 24 Bravo FS and WOW what a difference it made. Motor at 2 1/4'' Below pad I hit a best of 68.3 GPS and 6040 RPM. Boat was loaded and full of fuel with water in live well. Now I have to call Mark and work out a good prop because they want the RPM range to be around 6250. Just wanted to put this set up out there for who is dealing with similar set ups.
