I built a Rod Geeks SG79HM (actually I've built a few of them for both myself and buddies). My personal one is cut down to 7'3". It's an Sglass blank. I've thrown chatterbaits on a Hydra FL4 too (ALX Toadface) and that works great with flouro but I prefer the glass rod with braid.

Just use your favorite 6 1/2-7 foot medium heavy power, fast action rod. Used mine to catch a bunch of bass up to 10 lbs.

I also prefer the glass/composite blanks for Chatter/spinner baits... I had good results with the Dobyns 705CB Glass and Kistler KLXReel n Feel 7' MH.... My current fav is an ALX Toadface 7'2" carbon rod. It has a unique blank design with a mod/fast MH tip that transitions to a Hvy Fast. Loads/casts easy but has some pizzazz on the hookset! Great frog rod too

The dobyn's 736 cb glass from the beginning of the thread is out, and awesome. Definitely my go to chatterbait rod.

I use this or the iRod Stone Cold Swim/Vibrating Jig rod. Both work great for me, and I throw chatterbaits from ice off until the lakes freeze again.

I use a St Croix Avid 7' MH fast tip and it works awesome. I fish CB's through grass mainly and like to be able to rip and pause if needed. The Avid has a lot of power. Someone mentioned about feeling the blade thump.....I can't imagine a rod that u can't feel a cb on
