Yes. Took out rod tubes and handle organizer. Made handle rod organizer out a black foam and drilled a bunch of holes in it. Works great! Use rod socks to protect guides. Can put nearly 20 rods in.

clearly most guys remove them in this thread. I did this. Then put it back in about 1 hour later. My issue in the 618/619 is that the space past the insert curves and putting lots of long rods in they curved part without the tube guides was an issue for me. I have many 7'3 to 7'9 rods.
What I do is 10 rods in tubes and the core 6 rods I always have out on driver side. I take the 6 out at the start of each day.

thats the first thing i do when i get my boats!!!
Being some are removing the rod organizer, would someone like to get rid of the starboard side one that fits a 721?
Took mine out and never going back. Took me along time of struggling to decide, but muuuuuch better without. I use socks and reel covers anyway so damage isn't an issue. Much less headache without the organizer.

Took a tip from Hunter Schryock and cut some sections of kitchen drawer liner. Grippy and light stuff. Anyway, lay in a few rods, lay a sheet over the reels, lay a few more... easy way to protect numerous reels vs. separate reel covers. Granted not perfect, but way better than paint on paint if you don't want to use the moose antler
