2017 Nitro Z18 - Mercury ProXS 175 - 24P Fury - Elite 9 TI2 - Fortrex
I have had all glass boats and finally decided to get an aluminum boat. After looking at all brands even naturally being a long time skeeter owner, I was set on the G3 1910 Limited Edition, my last look was at a Crestliner VT 20 and it was watered down for the price and roached out for a 2017 I asked the dealer if they had any other metal bass boats. He showed me the RT188, loved the layout but no cooler. Asked if they came with one and said no but the 198 does. So I found a leftover 2018 Brand New with a Mercury 150 4 Stroke, 80 Fortrex, it had upgraded everything on trailer and boat with cover for 29k so I bought it on the spot.
Sold the mercury and put a 2019 Yamaha SHO, sold the Fortrex and got an ultrex, sold the lowrance Hook7 and put 2 12 HB Solix, added a 4" jackplate, 2 Powerpole Blade 2.0 (white) to match the boat, added lighting in all compartments, installed fixed nav lights, added a stbd side rod strapdown, put in a dual air stone aerator in the livewell, added a hotfoot, pro trim and mounts for the pole nav lights as a back up just incase.
I would say this is my favorite boat yet! From a 2007 SX200 to a 2010 FX20 to a 2017 ZX225 to this took not long to get used to. It is not the driest ride but it is pretty good in rough water. The pounding is a lot less intense than a glass boat. This one just surfs the swells. Nice boat!!

THANK YOU for a really great thread. Here it is January 2021 and your information is still SUPER useful. I especially liked the discrete PANCHO suggestion to go with the Porta Pottie. I was also SUPER happy to get your vendor and info for the registration number graphics. I sent them an Email asking for the price and iguanagrafix answered almost immediately. I ordered my Ranger RT188P the first part of December 2020 so I have a few more months of waiting. Thank you again for a TON of useful tips and information.
Such an awesome boat and great work done!!
Although I have a Tracker, I will be stealing some of your great ideas for my boat.
One thing for sure is a bimini top.. these hot Texas summers are killer and being able to chill in the shade and hydrate is a must!!
Great work! I have a RT178 and will definitely use some of your ideas.
Thank you very much
This is one great build. Lots of good ideas.
I presume you had a good time with this.
