I like P-Line Fluoroclear. A good blend between mono and fluorocarbon. Occasionally use line conditioner when fishing. I like it for crankbaits, spinnerbaits and vibrating jigs. Tough stuff with just a little stretch.

I've tried both and you are correct about the CXX as I've straightened out a 3/0 worm hook with 15lb CXX. I still like it (12-15lb) for general purposes...even ledge fishing because of its abrasion resistance. Only time I throw the bigger stuff is in muddy/dirty water or swimbait applications. Just spooled a spinning reel with 8lb CX and it is pretty limp compared to the CXX. It does show coiling....but some line conditioner could probably solve that issue.

Izorline Platinum. I've used just about every brand on the market and the Izorline Platinum has the right combination of abrasion resistance (very high), stretch (very little), and stiffness (very manageable) for my style of fishing. Plus, it is priced far more reasonably than many other premium lines.
