I just purchased a 7" helix for my 1850 sportfish. I currently have a small b&w sonar unit in the dash that i will be removing. I am going to run the cables to the transom following the existing cables and mount the tranducer to the same location as the one I have installed now. Any recommendations for mounting a 7" unit behind a windshield, there is plenty of space there for it, just dont know if I should go RAM mount, Balz mount etc. Thinking of using a 2" ball for support. I like a low profile look as well. Want to keep it simple with not a lot of drilling. Planning on taking this unit off in the next year or two when i upgrade boats. Any info or pics would be helpful.
