I just picked up my boat from the shop after they installed a jack plate. The tech brought me out and lifted up on the lower unit to show me the play in what looks like the same area as the bushing in this topic. He was saying this is dangerous and needs replaced. He said it was a very involved process requiring the motor to be removed.... Boat is a 07 Ranger and engine is 06 250 VMAX HPDI.

I am interested in these as well. TX Champ, can you advise if these are still available? I have a 03 200HP ox66 VX200TLRB and I need both the lower bushings and the upper ones at the tilt tube.

Rich Z's company is Brucato Fuel Injector Service -- http://www.brucatofis.com/. 24VDR called them and advises they no longer make them.

Rich Z no longer makes these bushings..Replacement bushings can be found at SimsYamaha.

The motor has to be removed so it is an involved process. I used a rented engine hoist.

I did mine with a engine hoist as mentioned. Makes it easier with a helper.

Did mine not that long ago.. pulling everything apart was easy enough but lining everything back up was a pain.. keeping the washers in place even with some grease was the worst part but with some patients it's not too bad a job. Looks like even the sho guys will have this same issue eventually.

I used a piece of 1/2 inch pvc pipe as a pilot rod to hold everything In place.
