Have found that I use the ps 30 more for this kind of fishing....hybrids, striper, etc. Just turned on the 21 to get some video after getting a ground wire run down the shaft of my trolling motor. Had some interference that looked like rays coming out. Haven't used a 31 before. Have used the 21 on a brushpile with fish on it, and it worked well. Just different styles of fishing requiring different transducers.

Idk if either the 21 or 31 would be beneficial with these fast moving fish. Haven't had to chase them around much, they seem to like my boat.

First day on the water with my new PS21 we were fishing in about 7-8 ft of water and I spotted something moving about 40 ft away. Told my bro to cast over there and watched his lure pass over the fish and told him to slow down his retrieve - fish hit the lure as I was watching.

If there are thick weeds it wont work as well. No sonar can see through the weeds or brush etc. But you will be able to see fish above the weeds or in front of a weed line.

Had a similar deal yesterday fishing striper in 48 feet of water on edge to drop off, vertical fishing live shad near bottom, I have two rods on one side of boat in holders, partner has two rods at my back in holders. I see a red donut come off the bottom fast and go back down, I said, wow and turned around and one of my partners rod tips was nearly in the water. He wasn't paying attention, LOL. Nice striper committed suicide!

Hybrid or sandy catch at end.
