Your guess is as good as mine. Could be a Rogue, could be a Rainshadow. Who really knows. At one time you could buy the same model rod a month apart and it was on a different brand blank. I deconstructed one last year that still had the Rainshadow label under the cork.

Are you saying that Kistler was using Rainshadow blanks...? I thought they rolled their own blanks. Either way, I love my 7' MF LTA, regardless of whose blank it is :-)

Every brands "fast" is different... Gonna be hard to match as there are too many variables, Just by looking at catalog specs.

Had this label under the grip when I stripped it.

yea, it's pretty strange what you find when you start taking rods apart. Thru blank most are inserts or even two blanks glued together to get more length. even high dollar rods with masking tape arbors for the reel seat and grips.

Yep. How about a Abu Villain. Guy cast the rod right off the handle.

You only think you know what you're buying. Replaced the stripper guide on a Shimano spinning rod for a guy and the blank was spliced under the guide.

Sheesh. Using someone's blank is one thing, but that Villain is another beast entirely!

It would say California Series on the label. They had that red accent thread while the Heliums used blue.

I don't remember it saying that, but it may have. There were red ones and blue ones in that batch of repairs.

The Kistler web page says they use Lake Fork composites by Gary Loomis for the helium 3. Click on an individual helium 3 and maybe you guys that know rod blanks can figure out which blank it is. The rod specs give a description of the blank.

Looking at the specs, probably the closest you'll get is a NFC MB665, not sure if it'd be a HM, IM or SM. I like NFC blanks but IMO they're too expensive. Lot of blanks that are just as good or better for less money. I'd get a 6'9" Hydra MB3 or MB4 and cut it down.

The problem with Kistler is they switched blanks about every 3 months there for awhile. I have two rods listed as the same rod that clearly are built on different blanks.
