    HElp w/ NEw 73 sv

This is my first purchase of what I consider to be a great fish finder... I have gone out twice now and i'm not getting arches like some of these screen shots are showing. I'm getting more blobs than anything. I'm having trouble trusting what I see. What can I do to help get those clear arches and better clarity on SV and DV? Any advice on this unit would be greatly appreciated IM NEW TO THE GAME! Set up is probably my biggest problem!

Mostly fishing for crappie, finding crappie beds, and then fishing for white bass, walleye, and hybrids!

    Thank you!

Blobs on any screen is relative to not moving that fast or not at all. To get arches you have to be moving to get a good arch.

You will never see arches on SV and DV. The only thing you will see arches on is 2D sonar. All you can see on SV and DV is the "blob" which is the air bladder.

Things I would check. (for traditional only)
    Chart speed
    Boat speed
77 or 200 on transducer setting
    Ping speed
Crappie fishing I get much better arches with everything else being equal using 77 khz over 200 khz.
Bet others will have some good advice :)
