Question 2001 Tracker 175 XT - new boat

Have a friend that just bought a 2001 Tracker 175 XT with a 2006 Merc 4-stk. He is just getting started in fishing and is very excited about the new ride. Was hoping some people have made some of the upgrades he is considering on this boat and can save some time.

    1. He has removed he center seat and wants to put in a day type box of some sort that can be walked across so the seats don't get walked on.
    2. His livewells are not filling that fast. The Flo Rite switch says Empty or Auto and nothing in the middle. Can or should this be upgraded? I will do some looking to see how it works. On the console the switch it says Manual (up) and Auto (down).
    3. Has anyone done a deck extension from the front deck to the console?
    4. What size bearing buddy's fit the 2001 Trailstar trailer?

He has gone through the boat and tighten all the screws, etc. The motor bolts were loose, what should the torque spec be for that transom?

Thanks in advance for any thoughts or ideas, he is super excited. He is also looking for a butt seat and pedestal.

Try this on the livewell first....

Mine can plug up from time to time as well... take a garden hose and spray it both ways through the plumbing...
Should be 3 spots to try....

    1) overflow in the livewell... on starboard side
    2) main drain in livewell... also on starboard side
    3) unscrew the aerator in the livewell and spray down that line as well

This sometimes pushed all the "gunk" OUT the fittings.... spray this way FIRST rather than INTO the plumbing from the transom side...

Has saved me a bunch of times....

as far as upgrading... yes can be done... (I think there is a sticky on it) .... I actually just replaced my livewell timer and livewell pump today... sure is a pain in the a$$ to get your hands down there

Deck extension... yes... I have on my 2000 PT185..

bad pic I know... but if you can see in this picture... I have 1/8" x 2" angle aluminum screwed to 3 sides... I think simply cut out a sheet of ply to fit the area and carpeted it

the pics in that thread don't do justice...

4x 12" on the rear deck and 2x 12" on the floor

The very first (super cheap) deck extension..

A few years later I did this deck extension (rebuild) This was on a 99' PT 165...

Enlarged the rod box and added more storage...

bought a 2001 tracker 175se/xt that has that same flo rite valve and it stuck in the middle. flo rite said to try back flushing it. i like your idea of working from the livewell flush to start. Tilt/trim works off of the bow control and off the side of the motor but not off of the shift/throttle. any thoughts?
