    Astro/Procraft Fans

Just so some of you know, the 180 and 200 super pro and f-18/20 and X2000 from years 1993-1998 are not the same hulls as the post 98 astro/procaft models. Different pad, different cap, completely different boat. Props that are the best for one isn't necessarily good for the other. The earlier models are the faster, lighter hulls and the later ones are more of pure fishing boat. Just info I decided o pass along, thanks

You tell them gcross, lol. There is almost a 500 pound difference in hull weight between the years on the 20 footers.

The year models that your are talking about have the same hull and deck layout. Hull weight change some. The lightest one were the first two years. They were hand laid by a team of people. After that they went down the production line. That's when the weight started to pick up.

No sir the boats aren't the same. Completely different layout pad and everything. The weight actually was even lighter in the late 96-98 models. Same boat as 93-96 but took more of the wood out of the boats in late 96-98.

I help design the super pro and f series. they change after tracker bought them out in 98. they changed the design in 99 or 2000. the used the old fisher hull and called it the super pro. PS if you came to the plant and they went to the lake with you and ran your boat. I could have been me.

Can't remember the 2 guys that went to the lake with me back on 94. But they did hurt my feelings when they told me I needed to learn to drive a performance boat. Lol But that inspired me to do so.

There were several boats that we uses some form of the go-fast pad on. (pad only) It was sad when tracker did away with the old super pro. They said they were going to update the super pro. I drove to springfield over night with one only to have them use the old fisher hull. They were different in driving took time but once you learned it hold on they were fast. I had one with a 225 pro max at 85.

I worked in engineering I had over 200 hour is testing this boat. I used to take a lot of dealers out to teach them how to drive this boat. Did a lot of traveling aswell. That was one of the down fall of the great boat. The dealers could not drive it. We had one in sefner florida that had a 280 on one 98

Yep 85 was very fast back then and if you had the pros that are available today you might have picked up a couple mph. If you run across a clean f18 up thatta way let me know.

I looked at a white with blue and black one 2 years ago in Nashville and should have bought it. Drove 4 hours to look at it and told the guy I was gonna marinate over it a few days, when I called him back 2 weeks later it was gone.

My f-18 was white/blue/dark navy. I had one of Gary Kliens motors on it. For a 150 I put solid mounts. a bobs tuner / it would run 76 to 77 with me and 74 with two people fishing. The 200 was the same color with a promax 225. I had the chance to run a 250pro xb on it. it would fly.

I think your 250 will run faster than the 260 if you put a cone on it and raise it up a couple inches. 260's were made for lighter hulls and even tho yours is much lighter than a regular pc the 260's like hulls that are 1200lbs or so or less. 260 around 87-88 and coned 250 around 90+.

Its good to see the love for the old super pros. I have a blue 96 SP200 with a 2000 Promax on it. Most people don't know that Procraft and Astro made a line of go fast boats.

That's one reason I really liked the boats, they would surprise a LOT of people. A they look cool too. if someone could find that mold they might make a few bucks.
