1996 procraft restoration

With how bad my top cap looks on my boat and seeing how the finished turned out on yours it's good to know ther is hope in getting my finish back. I just need to be less lazy and put some effort into it.

Ya haha as you can see mine was pretty bad and I was pretty nervous about the sanding but it was much easier then I thought and it did turn out great. It takes some work for sure but spreading it out over a few days makes it not so bad.

Carpet is Done! I'm happy with the way it turned out. There are a few things I wish I could change but nothing I can't live with. Soldering iron is the way to go for cutting/melting the holes in the carpet for seats poles and on lid locks it melts right through and really cleans up the edges. Finishing up all the wiring, adding the deck extension, key control and cleaning up the motor cables adding a rigging tube. Still lots to do but we're on the tail end finally!! Still waiting on the trolling motor to arrive, I got caught up in the new MG X5 backorders.

Got the rigging hose installed. It cleaned up great I never liked all the wires hanging loose. I really like the fitting I found for the hydrolic hoses to pass through it saved me from ordering hyd hose couplings and additonal 2' pieces of hose. I'll get a picture and part # of the what I used.

Deck extension is done. I used 1/2" & 3/4" plywood glued and screwed together then coated with fiberglass then padding and carpet. I used aluminum angle iron around the edges for support. There was a little ridge/edge I was able to use for support on 2 sides so it worked out great I only need aluminum angle on 2 sides.

Dash with new MercMonitor v1, gauges and new controls. I need to get my lowrance mounts for both the front and console.

Thanks for the comments! The only thing I would do different is not do it all at once. It's just to much. One thing at a time would be much easier. I'm doing the trailer now. new gatorbacks for the bunks, 18" wheels and tires, fenders. Almost ready for the big test ride. Havasu the end of March so I have to get it done by then.

Totally excited to get the new to me 2007 225 Pro XS on the water! As you can see it's emaculate, I have to thank Utah Travis for taking such good care of it for me, haha.

Got a new toy today. The new MG 36v X5!

Lifted the boat off the trailer and replaced all the bunks with new wood & brackets and installed new gatorbacks. Repaired the trailer where needed and raised the bunks 3" for the new 18" wheels and 11" wide fenders to clear.

I finally feel like we're in the home stretch and man am I glad! It's been fun but a lot of hard work and as usual way more money than I had planned.

Here is what I used to get rid of all the hard water and stains on the boat. I wet sanded the entire boat with 800, 1000, 1500 and then went over it all with the 3m compound and then followed up with the entire pro-tec system as shown in the pro-tec website video. I used the 3m because the pro-tec wouldn't quite get all the 1500 grit wet sand scratches out. I used the polisher and wool pad as shown in the pics. NOTE: if I had used 1000, 1500 and then 2000 the 3m compound may not have been needed. Also all the sandpaper for the wet sanding will come in the pro-tec kit.
