Garmin Networking / Transducer Sharing

I presently have a 7610xsv with a GT50-TM at the console and would like to add a 1040s at the bow. If I throw a PS-21 into the mix, must it be attached to the 7610xsv in order to share the transducer?

The 1040 only has one Marine Network port. Therefore, if you want both units Ethernet-linked and the PS21 sharing, then yes, the PS21 Ethernet cable would need to be plugged into the 7610, and an additional Ethernet cable would be connected from the 1040 to the second Marine Network port on the 7610.
