Does chirp really show that much more information than units without chirp?
Does chirp really show that much more information than units without chirp?
That would depend A LOT on what units you compare, at what depths you compare, and which ducers you compare. Generally speaking, yes CHIRP gives better target separation then non-CHIRP.
Less interference with multiple ducers. Clean screen
No, to me, chirp is just a sell point.
simple anwer is yes. It has much improved target separation and tons less screen clutter. It allows me to see into brush. Non chirp would simply show you a blob. It allows you to see multiple targets where regular 2d would show you a single target and it allows you to see fish that are tight to the bottom, where regular 2d wouldn't show them at all.
Here's way too much info for ya

Troy is correct. Did a tv fishing show for mid-continent, we were catching walleyes in the coon tail. Chirp allowed us to see them. Producer and host were very impressed they shot a long stream of video.
Cleary a difference. But if you of the mentality to turn your power up always to max, always might not see the benefit in some instances. I chirp through a TM 150
Is the 73sv chirp capable of seeing everything that clearly, or do you need the larger model?
