2016 Sportsman 17 Camo / 70 Yamaha Set up

Hello G3 Forum!! I've just purchased the 17 Sportsman for my versatility boat. I've bass fished out of a Triton 186 for years and wanted something I could duck hunt, and inshore fish with. Not looking for speed, but I want to make sure the motor is preforming as best as possible. The motor came with a 13 5/8"x 16P prop and would turn only 4200rpm. I tried a 13 5/8"x14P and it got the boat on plane much faster, but also turned over 6,000rpm at top end. I'm thinking a 15P would be the way to go.
Any suggestions??

First you need to make sure your tach is calibrated properly. When I had my Skeeter I went through 3 tachs before they got the 4th one right.
