Logger, if you get something different then that High 5 you'll do MUCH better I think. Look at the tempest plus if you want to get going a little faster ! What were your RPM's so i can calculate your Slip %

I have to guesstimate but I would say the 5350-5450 range. Thanks for taking the time to help a reata brother out. No jack plate fyi The gear ratio may have been wrong also. 1.75 per mercury.

you might be able to get close to 10- our boats are tanks (very heavy). my boat came with a high 5 - first thing i got rid of!

My knowledge of props is very limited as eviedenced by my running the high 5 still.. A 25 p tempest plus would give me better top end? I assume I would lose some hole shot with the trade?
thanks in advance. logger
you would want to go down in pitch - I went from 5 blade 23p to a 3 blade 21p. I just put it on yesterday and haven't had a chance to go run it yet. There should be a performance difference in the holeshot - but with the Vent system that helps with holeshot on the tempest it shouldn't be too drastic. tempest should run better with a heavy load too. once I get my boat out on the water i'll let you know the difference. Don't get rid of the high 5 as its a good prop for pulling tubes/skiers. I did a lot of research and talked to a lot of people. again, i'll let you know what I think.

Suggest 2 props, Tablerock...here's my current setup, mainly inherited but it's to my liking:
00 Coral 202, 98 225 Opti, 25P Trophy Plus (worked by Rich Boger), 3.5" prop to pad, 8" Jackplate, WOTRPM=5600
68 mph gps with 1 person, full tank of gas & tournament load of gear on smooth water.
The Tempest Plus is a good prop (have one on my 95 Cajun bassboat w/ a 175 EFI, 24P, 6" JP and saw 63 mph)-not sure what your RPM limit is on the 200 EFI, but 24P and 2-4" increase in setback may get you a few mph. All depends on your budget & time to tweak. Can't help you on the ski prop-haven't bought one yet but plan to go cheap with a goal of fast hole shot and slow speed (<35 mph) stability. From reading some of the F&S posts, seems like a lot of folks carry 2 props-1 for each purpose.
Not sure if the lower unit gear ratio is the same on your 225 Opti as it is on a 225 EFI, but a 25" Tempest Plus is an awesome prop for your boat if it is.

Hey Snowedin3,
I've got a 02 210 Reata, 225 Opti, Hi5 23P, turning about 5600 rpm, 1/2 to 3/4 tank fuel with a buddy, or the family, I top out right around 52.
How is that 3 blade working for you, or have you changed from that? 52 for this tank of a boat isn't bad, (not good either) but I think 60 may be attainable without drastic changes. I'd be interested in hearing about your set up.
Thanks for any info.

Was out on the lake yesterday... Just throwing out my numbers with the equipment that came with my boat. I'm sure I could get a few more mph with a prop change.
