Hi folks, I've been trying to get around to installing the tray I bought over a year ago...and finally found a few hours this morning.
I've done it before on a '99 201 it was very straight forward. But just like anything else, measure 8 times then start cutting.
I took a few pics, a couple with measurements. Center line was established using the front seat pole receiver and the front nav light receptacle. Forward edge of cutout is at 4.5" from front lip of deck (see pic)
Took the bow panel off to check for cross braces, wiring etc.....no issues for my install, but like Backlash says, YOUR Cobra may be different.
It took about 2 hours to layout, cut deck and dig out foam. After that,I sealed all cut deck edges with resin, shot bedliner over the newly exposed foam core to add some water resistance should any get in the hole and start to water log....the Permatec gasket applied to the lip of the tray before install should ensure that never happens. Also pre-drilled pedal attachment holes then put a dab of Permatec between pedal and tray at each screw location as well as all screw locations attaching tray to deck. Basically, any gap, hole, space etc. got Permatec before installation.
Hope this helps someone.
