    2.5

Would like predrilled with hardware. As old as my boat don't think you need worry about cutting ASTRO into plate. So SS with no logo? Iso that an option and is it any less saving that work?

I'm just curious if drilling the holes would void the warranty on my mercury. Anyone know?

Do you mean the pre drilled holes? Some are pre drilled and some you drill when you get them depending on how you order it

Or if you mean the bolts where the name is, those bolts hold the color plate that highlight the cutout name

yes bolts hold the cut out. some have cutouts and no bolts. looks cleaner without. can you cut out any name ?
Or are you just holding back plate in pics ??

crank is correct. in some pics, i am just holding the backing plate behind the cut out just to take the pic. if you dont like the socket head screws, i can use a button head which is alot shorter so it doesnt stick out as much.

i wish i could say for sure it wouldnt but im not gonna tell you that. i personally dont know how it could affect warranty. i guess if mercury was hunting a reason not to pay for repairs, they could say it was because of the 1/4" holes but then again, if they really dont want to pay, they could say just about anything. if a person hit something hard enough to break the cavitation plate, i would think it would break whether you had a foil on or not. what i do know is that if or shall i say when, you throw a blade and it goes up, a foil will protect the lower unit, mid section and cowling. i wonder if mercury would pay for a lower unit, mid section and cowling if you slung a blade on a trophy and you didnt have a foil? let me know if you decide you want one and ill get you fixed up. thanks

Best money I spent on my boat. Immediately improved my plane time, allowed me to stay on plane at lower speeds, and completely eliminated my porpoising. Oh, and it looks cool. :)
