Would love to keep this thread up to date. Currently having a new build and planning on going he same route 250 Pro XS. But with the motor being so outdated "still do love em" I'm just curious if I should go a different route.

With the potential of changes in the EPA, and various regulations, I'd say at this present moment anything offered is simply an unsubstantiated guess.

Well if they keep the current motor, I sure hope they figure out a better supplier for the compressors. (Or design)
I just re powered my Triton with a new ProXS 250. The same was on it before. My dealer recommended I do so, suggesting that by the next time I'm in the market which is when the 5 yr. warranty runs out, the 4 stroke questions will likely be answered. In a nutshell, nobody except the marketing folks at Mercury know what the immediate future holds. There's a lot at stake with the "scream and fly " faithful
Rumor is it won't come out for another 2 years and that's the info I got today. But like Don stated before these dates have been pushed back several times
Is there any truth to the motors being tuned down for 2017 to meet EPA requirements?
Man i hope not Josh! I have a new one coming any day now! I have always thought that there would be no way they would ever get rid of the 2 strokes all together. Even with all the technology I would think the racing division would still want to have them around!
They've been tuned down a touch since 2012 or around about.
What EPA?

I hope a 300-400hp engine comes out soon. I'll be looking for a motor, I've got 750 hrs on mine end is near. I would hate to make the switch to a Y brand motor!
