Some forced liquidations happening today in the oil markets and the stock indexes. And we are only about 10% off of the recent high. What happens if we go 15-20% down. In the service I use, a trader wrote that he has friend who is an option trader who blew up his account this week. Over 5 million gone in just a couple days. Stubbornness kills in this game.

These guys on TV keep talking about capitulation in the oil markets. 5% move on avg volume does NOT mean capitulation. Don't get fooled. I've heard it several times this week. They are only telling you because they want you to think the bottom is in. Maybe because they want the bottom to be in. Capitulation happens when the volume is 3,4 or more times the normal volume of contracts or shares traded. And is accompanied by extreme fear. When you see them on TV with no idea what is happening, and guessing there must be news somewhere and they are throwing their hands in the air and oil is down huge with volume at 5x's then we can talk capitulation.

And also don't get distracted by MOC, market on close, orders. They are talking about billions of dollars to buy the market on close. That means absolutely nothing in terms of investing or market sentiment. That doesn't mean big investors are buying this market. Alot of it has to do with options and ETF balancing.

Lets hope for some good chinese data this weekend so we can make some money back.

I'm glad I'm in a position to be able to put money in for the long term. A good time to learn how to find some good stocks and then learn how it all behaves on the way up. Plus I'm able to get in while the some of the more highly valued stocks are closer to being a 'bargain'.

Carl got it right with the Ebay/PYPL split and worked very well. Everything he does is to make money for himself and the shareholder. My guess is that the hardware part will be near worthless and possibly get bought by someone else. And the services side may work out well.

Not good when I have to expand out charts to two years to look for targets and supports.
