Thanks for the clarification Wayne, that makes sense now.

Button.... Does your 2d transducer cause an interference line on the side scan view just right of the center line?

the 2d does not cause an interference line. The live well intake is the one causing the line. but its not a big deal..it is less now.

I have the triton X17 (which has the same hull). I am running a merc 75 optimax and the factory Lowrance Depth finder (not a DI type finder, lower end 2d)... I can read at WOT (39 mph, 5500 rpm) without and issue usually. The only interference I see is when I first engage the motor in gear

I lose I very now and then tho ... I'll post my mount location

Good deal! I am going to save your pix for reference. I would have thought the HDSI side scan crystal would have seen the 2D transducer that close but that is great news. Still hoping that the Alumaducer will work but that will be my plan B.

When mounting these boards for the TD's are you guys just drilling and using sheet metal screws to hold the board on are do you drill thru and put bolts and nuts to hold board or TD for that matter?
I will be installing a regular sonar TD for a Helix 7 this week, I want a board long enough to first try mounting the TD inline with the bunk as that looks like the best place to put it since that welded piece of angle is in the other best place!

They come with screws, thats what i used, and alot of clear marine grade silicone in the holes and on the screws. It doesnt leak.

At first I did get a rooster tail that would splash the side of the motor, a little electrical tape across the
gap at top of transducer mount fixed that problem. This is a pic after first mounted, I also moved it upward about an inch.

Do you get good on plane readings with it there?
I'll just be mounting a regular sonar TD but would like to get readings while on plane.
I'm going to first try mounting the TD in line with the bunk area since my bunks are not to going to hit the TD while the boat is on the trailer due to the bunks setting @ 1/2" under the boat.

I don't have to worry about 50mph in mine so that place should work just fine

This is where it is right now, notice the tape (keeps it from blowing a rooster tail against the cowling).
I don't know why it turned this pic sideways...but...

I bought one called a sternmate off ebay and have been thinking about mounting it behind the bunk board. But now that I see where Steve has his located I might change my mind. Has anybody just used glue without screws.
